  322.  files to extract from the compressed
  323.  file. You may specify more the one
  324.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  325.  cards are allowed.

  328.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  329.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  330.  of files in a window.  After the window
  331.  is displayed you tag the files to
  332.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.

  334.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  335.  files.

  338.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  339.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  340.  characters using the program SGREP.COM
  341.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  342.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  343.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  344.  completed to results will be listed on the
  345.  screen. A normal or Regular Expression
  346.  search may be performed.  Regular Expression
  347.  searches are always case sensitive!!!!!

  350.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  351.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  352.  of files in a window.  After the window
  353.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  354.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  355.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  356.  key to process the tagged files.
  357.

  359.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  360.  files from the compressed file into the
  361.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  362.  via the ALT-P command.

  365.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  366.  and directory of where any extracted files
  367.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  368.  follows:
  369.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  370.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  371.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  372.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  373.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the F9 key.
  374.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  375.  use it's floating extract location
  376.  logic.

  379.  The ALT-R command allows you to rename the
  380.  currently hilighted file in the compressed
  381.  file. You will be prompted for a new name.

  384.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  385.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  386.  the window pops up enter a standard DOS
  387.  file search pattern and press the enter
  388.  key.
  389.  The display will be repositioned to the
  390.  first or next file that matches the
  391.  pattern.

  394.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  395.  the tagged file display line at the

  422.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  423.  to enter the program name to run, the
  424.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  425.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  426.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  427.  to pause after each execution of your
  428.  program.
  429.  
  430. *altz  !!virus check!!
  431.  This option will check files to see if they
  432.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  433.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  434.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  435.  and have used the configuration program to
  436.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  438.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK

  442.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  443.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  444.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  445.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  446.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  447.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  448.  compressed file contents screen.
  449.

  451.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  452.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  453.  to enter the
  454.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  455.  compressed file to create, whether you
  456.  want to add or move files into the new
  457.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  458.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  459.  new compressed file.
  460.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  461.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  462.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH,PAK
  463.  HAP, and UC2 files!!!!!
  464.  
  465.  You will also be asked if you want to
  466.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  467.  the entered file spec as is.
  468.  
  469.  If the compression program you choose
  470.  supports saving path information you will
  471.  also be asked if you want to save
  472.  directory information, and if you want to
  473.  recurse the directory tree.
  474.  
  475.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  476.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  477.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  478.  information that can be stored inside the
  479.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  480.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  481.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  482.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)
  483.

  486.  This option will delete all tagged files
  487.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  488.  asked to verify the delete before the
  489.  files are actually deleted from the
  490.  compressed file.
  491.  
  492. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  493.  This option will extract all tagged
  494.  files from the compressed file.
  495.  
  496. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  497.  This option will activate the alternate
  498.  file viewer if one has been defined in
  499.  the SHEZ.EV external file.
  500.  PLEASE SEE  THE USER MANUAL FOR
  501.  INSTRUCTIONS ON SETTING UP AN
  502.  ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  503.  
  504. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  505.  This option will set the compressed
  506.  file's time and date to the time and
  507.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  508.  the compressed file.
  509.  
  510. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  511.  This option will untag all currently
  512.  tagged files.
  513.  
  514. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  515.  This option will tag all files in the
  516.  currently displayed window.
  517.  
  518. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  519.  This option will convert a self
  520.  extracting file back to its native
  521.  compressed file format. The self
  522.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  523.  The normal compressed file will be
  524.  built on the same drive and directory
  525.  where self extracting file is found.
  526.  
  527. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  528.  This option allows you to copy all
  529.  tagged files from the current compressed
  530.  file into another compressed file.  The
  531.  target compressed file may be any
  532.  currently supported format.
  533.  
  534. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  535.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  536.  drop you off into disk and directory
  537.  that is specified as the extract
  538.  location.
  539.  
  540. *d  !!delete one file!!
  541.  This option will delete the currently
  542.  highlighted file from the compressed
  543.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  544.  delete before the delete is actually
  545.  done.
  546.  
  547. *e  !!extract one file!!
  548.  This option will extract the currently
  549.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  550.  drive and directory, or the
  551.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  552.  the ALT-P command.
  553.  
  554. *f      !!freshen!!
  555.  Using this option you can specify the
  556.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  557.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  558.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  559.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  560.  extensions.
  561.  
  562. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  563.  This option will temporarily exit to
  564.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  565.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  566.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  567.  the return key.
  568.  
  569. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  570.  This option will temporarily exit to
  571.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  572.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  573.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  574.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  575.  
  576. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  577.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  578.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  579.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  580.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  581.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  582.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  583.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  584.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  585.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  586.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  587.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  588.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  589.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  590.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  591.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  592.  
  593. *af2 !!smart extract
  594.  This option will invoke the smart extract function.
  595.  Smart extract will analyze the list of tagged
  596.  files and will attempt to fill the target
  597.  drive.  If all files will not fit on the target
  598.  drive a message will be displayed and the files
  599.  that could not be copied will remain tagged.
  600.  
  601. *f8  !!edit!!
  602.  This option will allow you to edit a
  603.  file in the compressed file.  This
  604.  option will only work if you specified
  605.  an editor to use when you configured
  606.  compressedPER.
  607.  
  608. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  609.  F9 allows you to indicate how to sort
  610.  the list.
  611.  ALT-F9 allows you to specify the sort
  612.  order for each sort type. The sort
  613.  order specified will remain in effect
  614.  until you exit SHEZ or re-specify.
  615.
